1999 was the year that saw Lebanese cuisine change forever. Abd El Wahab Inglizi Street in the heart of Beirut became home to a restaurant of the same name. Reflecting everything great about Lebanon and its culture, this restaurant embodied the genuine heart of the Lebanese people. Filled with warmth and founded on generosity, this restaurant quickly became highly sought after. From its humble beginnings as a standalone restaurant, it rapidly became the humming and vibrant hub of a chain of restaurants proudly bearing the name Abd El Wahab. Situated in iconic locations around the Middle East, standing in the shadow of the mighty Burj Khalifeh in Dubai, overlooking the Dubai Fountains, in the heart of international hotels such as the St Regis and the Shangrila make this restaurant famous. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Bahrain are all hosts to the expansion of this now legendary brand. Perhaps the true measure of a brand is its ability to grow beyond its own culture and to appeal to others around the world, and so Abd El Wahab’s story is continued in the centre of London’s most prestigious neighbourhood, Belgravia, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Abd El Wahab is our flagship brand and is where our story began, but is most certainly not where it ends!
